Ingredients
Increase Portion Size
- g Country Range Puff Pastry Block
- Country Range Pear Halves
- Country Range Star Anise
- g golden caster sugar
- g butter

Step 1
Pre heat the oven to 180c / 160c fan -

Step 2
Place the sugar into an oven proof, non-stick frying pan and gently heat until the sugar melts. swirl gently until it has fully melted and is a light golden brown, remove from the heat and stir in the butter. -

Pack the pear halves tightly with 1 star anise in the middle of the pan and allow the pan to cool -

Step 4
Roll out the pastry into a round, larger than your frying pan or dish and place on top of the pears -

Step 5
Carefully tuck the excess pastry around the edges of the pears to seal them in and this will also hold all of the caramel -

Prick the top of the pastry a few times with a fork to help let out the steam and bake in the oven for 30 mins until the pastry is crisp and golden brown -

Allow to cool for 5 mins then turn out onto a dish. -

Serve with Signature by Country Range Salted Caramel Ice Cream.
