Parboiled Long Grain Rice.
Saucepan 1. Place 225g rice in a medium saucepan and add 425ml cold water. 2. Bring to the boil, reduce heat to a simmer, stir, cover and allow to cook for 12 to 15 minutes. 3. Remove from heat and leave to stand for 5 minutes. 4. Fluff up with a fork and serve. Microwave 1. Put 250g (8oz) rice into a deep non-metallic bowl with 600ml (1 pint) of boiling water, adding salt if required. 2. Cover with cling film, cutting a few vents in the film. 3. Cook on full powder for 10 minutes, stirring 1-2 times during cooking. Allow to stand for 5 minutes. 4. Fluff up with a fork and serve. These instructions are for guidance only.
For best results, rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water prior to cooking.
